Crispy fried tofu coated in spices that lifts up the flavour and makes you want to have more!

Ingredients
- 400g firm tofu, cut into thin slices
- oil for deep frying
For the Tofu batter:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 chicken bouillon
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, thinly sliced
- 2 stalks spring onion
- 1/4 cup coriander, cut into thin sliced
- 500 to 600 ml water
For the Sweet Soy Chilli Sauce
- 1 to 2 Bird’s eye chilli
- 2 to 3 shallots
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup sweet soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
- salt, to taste
Preparation
- Combine all batter ingredients in a mixing bowl, make sure to remove all the lumps.
- In a medium heat, add oil in a frying pan. Once the oil is ready, dip each slice of tofu in the batter and fry until crispy.
- For the sweet soy chilli sauce, in a food processor, blend the garlic, chilli and shallots. Add the sweet soy sauce, light soy sauce and salt.
- Arrange the fried tofu on a serving plate and serve with the sweet soy chilli sauce.
